27.2 & 26.6 pound turkeys shot in Bruce County
This year 2 of the biggest turkeys I have ever seen were shot near my place near Chesley, Ontario.
I was hunting with a 2 friends that shot the 27.2 Tom and I shot the 26.6 Tom about a week later on a solo hunt.
I posted the stories in different threads.
To ensure that the luggage scale that I use is accurate, I weigh a jug of vinegar with my postal scale and compare it to the luggage scale. I did this just prior to the season start and again after shooting my big Tom.
as you can see in the photos, the luggage scale shows 9.2 pounds and the postal scale 9.228 pounds.
Based on the lack of snow and cold weather this past winter, I was expecting to see some heavy birds. I was pleasantly surprised to see the weight for both of these Toms.
