My 2 cents..... Trump is pro American, he does not care about other countries as long as the one he is governing becomes stronger on the world stage. Almost sounds like a good leader to me. Wish we had one here.

Trump has recently made an announcement and re-declared war on drugs (again as Reagan did).

    Trudeau makes drugs legal.

Drug use weakens us as a nation, makes us vulnerable in the current global political conflict, and promotes unnecessary individual freedoms as the loss of society as a whole.

Trump can be extreme, but he puts the country first.

The recent tariff war is so the US can take the money and pay for the border security that Canada should be doing. If your neighbor is selling crack out of their house and you call the cops you expect they will do something about it, that's all he is saying.

He said in his speech that Mexico is cooperating, but he made a reference to other drug producing countries in South America, specifically calling on the Navy to act, it will be interesting to see what the outcome of this will be in the next year or two.

This is a case of those living in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.
I'd have more support if Trump would say ya Canada has a problem of American illegal guns and drugs coming from us so this is what I'll do to reduce it, in return for Canada's support in helping with our immigration and drug problem.

As in Canada, China has greatly increased it's diplomatic missions and military intel gathering efforts in Mexico and other central American countries supporting the various drug cartels that are dealing in Fentanyl and almost pure Heroin,Opium and Cocaine from the Asian Golden Triangle and South America. Russian and Chinese warships are now a common sight in The Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean sea ports of Mexico,Cuba and Venezuala. Twenty years ago, that would have been unheard of. Trump's first objective is to clearly determine where the enemy is,what they're doing and to take action accordingly. If Canada gets caught up in the diplomatic shyte storm because we elected an ineffective, feckless communist sympathizer and an equally useless and unqualified government, that's just going to be tough bananas. As ye sow,so shall ye reap.

With Freeland's resignation today, things are looking even worse.

I work in the Finance industry and there is only one reason for an abrupt exit like this, it occurs when someone is being asked to do something immoral or illegal that contravenes the professional association's code of ethics. The onus is on the professional to act in accordance with the codes, not their superior who gives the orders. This was one of the rules put in place as a result of the Sarbanes Oxley law suits that rattled the Finance industry back in the early 2000's (I worked for one of the companies in that lawsuit).

While I do not know the circumstances in this situation, it appears she has shown backbone by quitting. Circumstantially, Trudeau has a history of deflection and is most likely continuing this strategy with future announcements on this issue.

If you read Freeland's biography, it becomes immediately obvious that she's no dummy having traveled extensively and written many papers and books on Russian and Ukrainian politics and a avowed enemy of the Russians. She's also well educated and a dedicated leftist/socialist. I think she's had enough of Trudeau's incompetent nonsense much the same as Judy Wilson-Raybould among others. It may also be an attempt to distance herself from his policies with an eye "down the road" to the eventual leadership of The Liberal Party which, now, may come sooner than we think. Time will tell.
