moose opener moved a week a head
Looking at the proposed dates the MNR has the opener for Oct 18 instead of the Oct 11 Im I treading this correct and why the change ?

I've been told that is correct by a outfitter, Rifle opening last year on the 12 seemed early to me.
Bow doesn't open till September 27 in the area I hunt.

That would be correct. The closest Saturday to October 15th.

The October 12th was the closest Saturday to the 15th for the past moose hunt.

These kind of info (shared among first hand hunters ) makes the Forum being invaluable source of "hard to find" or obscure data!

ps-since they moved Opener to Saturday Closest to 15 Th(and 15th is Wednesday)it will be Oct 8th....
Only in 2028 and after for few years will be like closer to Oct 1st (not much though)something like Oct 14-th.......
This Opener shift bites into the Prime deer Hunt season for sure!!!!
