I have offered in the past to help fix it for free but was turned down in the past.
My back ground is 25 years of computer programming and databases.
Although I am not familiar with this platform, but these day's I'm just to busy.

My understanding from past chats with Caltek is the platform is too old and too many updates were missed over the years. The latest update cannot be applied without loosing all messages and member base.
It might be harder to sell advertising with a member base of 100.

This is kind of novelty -or maybe i am just missing something.
The Forum apparently makes money on having Members AND running live?
If so-i am kind of baffled:
-why we have so many issues then(the smoother we run,the more the traffic-the more advertisement possibilities')If this is a "business of sort",why issue fixing is not incorporated -to keep the business running?
-why the liveliness of the Forum was so many times "put on our shoulders "( this is Your forum -the members Forum, You make out from it whatever you-The membership do)Why the Forum is not run on the premise of a "business"model then?
-why the traffic and membership is not Hyped up-and make it as more opportunity for traffic = weight of the Forum increases. This would make perfect sense.

I wish I had answers for you GBK. I'm just guessing that the large membership is a selling feature for magazine advertising.

How much advertisement do you see on this forum?
the Advertisement boxes on the left side of the home forum page are empty
My take on it is its not a business run venture.
So if its not for profit than ya a free meeting place so take it for what it is complaining won't make it better.

Sorry for the frustration you and your wife are experiencing. I hope OOD upgrades their forum software soon.
One of the times she was trying to sign on, she got the "Data Base" error page. I am thinking that may have been the "Successful" login.
So I guess "Technically" she did get logged in, and then the site crashed.
Take the warning labels off. Darwin will solve the problem.

Signing in is working fine for me to day March 3.

I've had problems accessing the forum for the last couple days. I would only get a blank page. Not sure if anyone has also had this happen. It's frustrating at times. Reloading the page multiple times over the course of the day, sucked. But hey, it works today so, yay!
I'm all for a new platform/software, whatever it takes to make the forum run smoother. Not that anyone asked. I'm just saying.

It's working for me now. I've been locked out for the last few days.
Spoke too soon. Just got a database error and had to reload. Now I'm the only member online.
