It’s never been the same ever since they left the CNE.. The last time I was there was the year they tried to bring back the indoor field trails. I give them A for effort to try and put it together but it was a fiasco…

I went yesterday with my son and to be honest it was pretty bad to say the least. Got there at about 11.30am and took us about 30 minutes to get a parking spot after going around the full lot.

Inside was jam packed with people at one stage on the north side between the two bigger halls a complete log jam, shoulder to shoulder foot traffic. Very hard to see with so many folks around you even hard to get a seat for even a coffee. Prices pretty out there $11.50 for a hot dog?

I am not a marketing expert but with that volume of people you could probably sell those hot dogs for $3.00 , most folks naturally buy a can of pop and if you sold that for another $3.00 you would still be able to make a profit just by volume.

Basically way to busy to be enjoyable, if I ever go again it will be real early on the second day of opening, get a parking spot easy, have a mad dash around the whole place and concentrate later on spending time at some individual booths I would be interested in.

By the number of pick up trucks and folks I saw, tons from up north, it would be an expensive day out especially with kids.

$11.50 for just a hot dog, I would hope they had some Hooters girls feeding them to you.

It’s unfortunate that prices for food has skyrocketed but the cost of a booth, the cost of employees wages have all escalated and you only have 4 days to recoup yours costs and show a profit. At least when the sportsman show was held at the CNE you had 10 days to do it in… I’m not trying to justify the prices but its just the cost of doing business in a short time span.
No different than going to a Leafs or Blue Jays game… $20:00- 30:00 bucks for a beer….
