An other trip to Forest Larose
I took yet another swing at Forest Larose thinking that if I go in further I would get some success on either Grouse Rabbit or even maybe if I hit the Jackpot a Wild Boar. After 8 km of walking up and down and trough water and roots all I did was piss off a lot of squirrels.
Now I’m thinking it’s either me or the Forest has been over hunted since it being the only free hunting land around for quite a drive.
Has anyone had any luck in Larose Forest?

Has too much time on their hands
I use to train and many others as well dog teams in the fall on training carts many years ago. Not sure if this is still going on but dog teams would scare allot of the animals away. I also know it was hunted for grouse and the moose population was on the rise about eight years ago.

Hunted there off & on for past couple years, deer, small game, turkey....definitely hard to find, over hunted for sure. Any crown land spot better than larose, unless u get a moose tag, saw tracks, buddy saw moose, u just get into the swamps, never shot anything up there.

Xavier, I'm new to hunting as well. Did some grouse hunting in September up at a hunt camp in North of Quebec and had some success, but haven't hunted in the National Capital area yet. Are you up for a partner? I don't have too many friends that hunt down this way. Would be good to have someone to go with. I'm thinking of Crown land west of Ottawa (Lanark area), which I know well from fishing. Also the Marlborough Forest near Munster. I would be open to trying Larose as well.
Let me know, PM me if you prefer.
