    Default Dove hunt question

I will be heading out for a dove hunt soon but I have a quick question concerning mojo decoys. I recently purchased dozen dove decoys and I was considering in purchasing the mojo dove decoy but I already have have mojo mallard hen decoy. I was wondering if I can just use that? Would it be legal to use when I am not actually duck hunting just for doves?

I do not see anything in the regs that says you cannot. But I am not sure how much luck you will have with a mallard hen mojo. There is an obvious size difference and the wing speeds are obviously different as well. Also, I have used mojo mallards a lot without bringing in many doves. We HAVE had them come into the same fields where we were duck and goose hunting, but they did not seem to be drawn to the mojos. A mojo teal might be closer, but I would get the dove decoy if you can. I have heard many good things about them from the guys I know who doves hunt with them. I mainly walk corn fields or bush edges and jump them, as doves is more about stretching my legs and walking with my sons for me.

if you got it use it. Regs where changed last year to allow any decoy combination. As above fast spinning wings draw the most attention even over static dove decoys however if all you have is the mojo use it even if you pick up a dove mojo I would and do put out the duck..

I have both Mojo Mallard hen and Dove, like Kenny says I have never had a Dove come to the Mojo Duck, could be the size difference. But today, I had Woodies and Mallards come into the goose spread, we had some Dove decoys out with the Dove Mojo. We had Doves come to the Dove Mojo as well as Pigeon. Sure we have seen them in the same field; but neither of which came right in on a Duck Mojo like they did on the smaller Dove Mojo. So to answer your question, try the Duck Mojo if you want; but if you can afford the Mojo Dove, get the Mojo Dove, it made a difference today in my opinion.

The mojo doves wing spin much faster than the duck, I used my mojo dove and a dozen decs last night, shot my limit again in just over an hour and all but two were shot decoying
