Upland vest review
I purchased this strap vest this year and am very pleased with it so far. It has 3 straps that make it very adjustable and distributes the weight very well. Nothing moves around and there is plenty of pockets/room for shells, transmitters and water bottles. I highly recommend it.

I really like it. It was originally bought for early season warm weather but it's all I use now.

It is a nice enough vest but for me it is way over priced. Canadian Tire has them for well over $200

I think I paid $140 at Sail.

TR, go with the Wingworks. The cordura vest is around the same price, and IMO it is a better product. I like supporting the smaller company also.

I looked at the Wingworks but find there isn't enough Blaze orange on it which is typical of vests designed for Western/desert hunters who target chukar. Pretty sure you can't get a Wingworks into the country for $140 bucks either after taxes and duty fees.

You can ask him to include some extra blaze, and it isn't an issue. Neither vest meets the requirements of blaze orange area, so I usually wear it with a blaze shirt or jacket underneath. The cordura was $180 when I bought it, and I shipped to the border and picked it up on a trip to the US. They're both good vests, can't go wrong with either.

I really like the look of the Wingworks but when I checked them out the other day, they were $185 US for the Cordura. A tad pricy! I also like Pineo Falconry vests but they're not cheap either ($138 US, I think).
At the moment I use the Browning strap vest, which at about $65 is about the cheapest option out there. Like Terry I originally bought it for warm weather but now use it all season long. The plus on that one is a huge game bag to dump all your stuff in ... the big minus is small front pockets. But with all the cash I saved cheaping out on that vest I can get a Wingworks to replace it.
I don't really worry about blaze and vests. On public land, on busy days, I'll wear a full orange shirt. The rest of the time I figure a little bit of blaze is enough to be seen ... even a hat shows up a mile away. And I don't go out during the uncontrolled deer hunt....

Maybe I am missing something, but I feel that strap vests are over priced and over rated.
Whatever happened to a regular game vest? Seems like strap vests are the hip thing.
I wear a Columbia mesh vest with zipper pockets, have wore it for 15 years. Unfortunately they are no longer made, I should have bought an extra. I definitely prefer mesh and love huge pockets with Zippers.
