Well with no tags this season its been tough watching all the moose and never seeing a calf.on tuesday evening that all changed here it is 14 in 14 in 2014.http://
So my question is does this one really count..lol, as it ate my chev symbol on my 2500 ??

This was also the 14th moose i seen this season in an area that the MNR reports there is a drastic change. And reduced tag numbers by 93 % which is obviously another poorly thought out decision.... As all the locals report the same thing they are seeing more then ever .Come over a bunch of hills on side road a mile away from home and in between gaurd rails was three moose a cow with twins.I aimed for the opening as I laid on the anti lock my butt brakes...and just before i made it threw the one calf spun around and wham...the cop said this was his" third of the evening ,and the MNR says theres no moose here" Wouldn't yha figure the first calf i see this season errr hate dealin with ins company's they will take for all they can.Cheers hope your hunts are going well.

Glad you made it our unscathed, and meat is meat, at least it didn't go to waste on the side of the highway.

At all costs other then jumping the gaurd rail and plunging 30-40 ft i was avoiding that cow she was HUGE..The damage was not as bad as i thought it would be on a rd kill and i jumped out and bleed it out right away in a area with no cells phone servive and in a hollow i decided to try to get my truck home.Made it and the cop said it was the best decision to get the truck outta the hollow before we had a serious problem. With 5 lil ones at home i had my wife drop me off and come back home, wow the ol cow was carrying on pretty good and i wished i had some one to hold a flashlight. lol ,but i used the gaurd rail for leg holders and yelled the cow away in the dark,She was a gd mom and lead her remaining baby away.Thank goodness! My bud showed up shortly after the cops and we finished it up and got it hung.

HEHE that made me laugh. Thanks.

Glad everyone's OK, I think you can still go after a calf if you feel like it. Road kill should not count as your tag.
