Yup, Someone do that coyote a favour and put it out of its misery.

I've shot a few even worse than that. They are usually so hungry and so sore/frozen they don't care about much. I had one come out of a cattle barn as I was dragging his buddy across the field to the truck. He stood 50 yards away while I dropped the coyote, Took my gun off my shoulder and shot him. I swear he was asking for it.

Gotta be a miserable way to go.

Great shot. I killed one about 20 years ago that came to a rabbit in distress call in mid feburary -20 kinda day. That poor dog only had fhur on the back of her ears , the rest of her looked like a scab. If the one in your photo has mange ( and it looks like she,he does) I can see it surviving this winter and dying the next winter. Nasty thing to die from for sure but I guess thats natures way of leveling the playing field.
