First pickeral fish of the year
Finally got out tonight for my first pickeral (walleye) fish of 2015.
2 (well, 3, but only 2 fished at a time) of us hit up a larger sized lake in Parry Sound district and boated 5 nice keeper walleye in about two hours. Also 3 out of season smallmouth, one enormous rock bass, and a hammerhandle pike (those fish released). Had another 6-7 serious hits which had the feel of a pickeral, but alas didnt get eyes on them. All fish were caught on jigs (black being the best colour) tipped with minnows. 4 of the 5 came in water 4-5 feet deep, with one coming from 9 feet. lol
All in all a perfect first outing. They were just starting to come on when we left, but we had enough and were out of minnows anyways. Tomorrow nights dinner will be tasty.

beautiful walleye, I managed my first , second and 3rd of the season as well this weekend thanks to some advise off this forum, all the walleye I caught this weekend where hugging close to the weed edges and deepest would have been 12-14' of water. Nice to feel the head shake of a walleye again, never get tired of that.
first one was caught on a Rapala ''troll to "" 3 1/2 " Black / Silver, trolling along the weed edge, other 2 caught on a minnow . missed 2 with harnesses.
water temps are still in the low 60's.

Nice haul. Tasty I'm sure.
I like the way fish appearances change depending on location caught. Those look darker and fatter than the pickeral I caught in Bay of Quinte long weekend.
