Goose Decoy Paint Colour
What paint product and colour do you fellas use to touch up your goose decoys? I've seen guys using the ultra flat Krylon brown but was wondering if there's a better option to consider?

Could you just take one to a paint store and have them scan it? Seems my wife has done this several times when she wanted to match a colour. That's if you can't get the colour from here.

I used the ultra flat brown and grey and it worked fairly well as well as a flat white. I have crappy floaters but was able to use the texture to make a decent pattern on them. Imo the contrast of white and dark is what makes the decoy stand out.

Ive had great results with krylon, WAY better than acrylic paint imo... First I spray the head and neck flat black with krylon brand and tape it off once dry. Then I use a flat valspar brand porcilen colour spray paint for the undercoat and spray the back area from back to front so it gets in all the contours of the feathers, I find that flat white is to bright for the undercoat when in contrast to the brown. then I use the krylon flat brown and spray the back area of the bird from front to back so the brown doesn't get into the contours of the feathers. I find this allows for the contrast between the two colours to stand out more and creat the illusion of the white down feathers below the brown flight feathers. then I hit the chest and shoulder area with krylon flat tan and give the tail feathers a quick shot of flat black. I add the white chin strap and white butt feathers at the end with exterior latex primer because
its free from work...

I went the Krylon route and looking at them up close they turned out ok I guess. From a short distance they look great mixed in with newer better dekes. By the time the birds are close enough to critique the paintjob, they'll likely end up on the game strap.
