Swampsinger you are in fact almost right on. Stealth is everything!, when it comes to fly fishing for trophy trout. I wasn't exactly crouching, but as I always am, I was extremely cautious approaching the pool.

As I was sneaking up, and yes I was sneaking, I caught a momentary glimpse of her heading for cover of the run. I saw her long before she saw me, so I knew without a shadow of a doubt she was in there. Then it was just a matter of choosing the right fly.

I'm inspired , heading for the adirondacks this morning. I've caught brown trout in lake ontario, but never on the fly gear or in rivers/streams. I can reach the Tupper Lake area in under 2 hrs, seems thats my closest best option. I'll try and remember stealth and acccuracy are better than distance.

Lots of big browns in the grand lost my fair share of donkies only landed 1 23 inch so far. I was there when they stocked the fish which was a great expierence. They have put a new wild brown in the river this year as well which will be awesome in a few years once they are bigger.
