My license says I can have one up to two hundred feet, over that I need to submit an application to DOT. Wife says she wants a FM repeater system and mesh network to cover our property when we buy it. Don't think I would need 1500 feet, four hundred should do it.

I think I would actually enjoy that. Great view, fair weather outdoor job (I'd assume), active, great way to scout hunting lands... After a year or two it might loose it's novelty and trying to fit the quads required in today's "skinny" jeans would be a pain but would love the opportunity to give it a try.

This is a picture on me sitting on the top of a 2700 foot vertical drop that we had just finished climbing. This at +/- 18,700 feet on the rim of a dormant volcano. The savannah below on the bottom right of the picture is at +/-2500 feet. The horizon with this much differential is curved due to the curvature of the earth.
