    Received this in an email and thought I would forward in case any members interested:

    Pratt’s Dam Spring Rainbow Trout Fish Lift


    When: Saturday, March 26th, 9:00 am
    Where: The Mill Restaurant & Pub, 990 Ontario Street, Cobourg, ON K9A 3C7
    Why: 200 adult Rainbow Trout will be lifted over Pratt’s Dam to spawn in high quality habitat upstream of the dam to help support the population


    Rainbow Trout are a naturalized fish species in Cobourg Creek, and require a healthy watershed to support healthy populations.

    Email update on the success of the event:

    The event was a great success, with 51 volunteers, support from The Mill Restaurant and 203 fish lifted over the falls. The 203 fish included:


    Number of Males: 103
    Number of Females 100
    Percent with lamprey scars: 16%
    Percent wild: 100
