Hi Attila
I am well sir, thank you. I hope you are the same.
Panfishing from shore remains a favourite fishing activity on my end. Both fixed and slip float fishing can be very effective indeed. Nice choice to go with marabou over plastic in cold water- great tip for a variety of species. Thank you.
Good luck
In the slanting sun of late afternoon the shadows of great branches reached from across the river, and the trees took the river in their arms

Anytime I go out specifically for panfish I'll pack 2 UL combo's, one rigged with a slip bobber and jig of some type and the other with a small jerkbait (usually a small xrap these days). You can really cover a lot of water with the jerkbait and when you find that the bite slows the slip bobber and jig combo is more than adequate.
I've been doing a lot of studying this winter and many resources indicated that marabou works best in cold water situations. If the weather persists like this for the next month, I'll be using marabou for walleye in the kawartha's and also for panfish should they still be accessible. I'm also going to give them a shot at the end of the month for trout in the Eastern tribs...one never knows what might happen but if the rivers are cool it might be the ticket.
Cheers, Attila

I've been fishing marabou jigs for years and years for steelhead they work very well. The best part is that they work (IMO) best when run at 2/3 water depth. Great way to get novice anglers into fish minimizing hangups.
Still a bucktail fan for 'eyes. Old habits die hard.
Good luck

Thanks for the tip Habs, I appreciate it.
I'm making the effort to go out each weekend and hope to post results for every outing that I make. Here's hoping for a successful year!
