Well I went there today they had sent me a "VIP" card and the store was quite nice. But..... there was nothing on sale. I went and spoke to the manager and asked why there was no sale? He said technically they were not open and this was a special event. So I asked if that meant we got to pay higher prices. He said he couldn't lower the prices but would give me some Fudge and peanuts. I told him he was an arse hole. Twenty people left with me. Typical bait and switch. Essentially what they were counting on today is to sucker people in to buying stuff at the regular prices.

We went tonight as well to find our Cabela's treats their VIP customers to 0% off. One of the staff told me I could buy today and come back within the next week and just take the receipt to customer service and they will refund the difference. I took them up on as the boots I wanted may be gone in my size by the weekend. It's only 5 minutes away from the kanata house so not a big deal for me, but crappy deal for most of us VIP's.
At 8:30 pm there were already 30 or so people in the line up for tomorrow morning. Apparently they are giving random valued gift cards to first 250 smucks that will wait in line all night.
Looking forward to order online and free shipping to store in the future.

That I would have liked to have seen, sure he wasn't expecting negative feedback from a VIP ..LOL...
Typical 'Big Box' retailer, customer appreciation is not part of the corporate philosophy, it's all a facade.

Kind of an odd way to get repeat customers...force them to come back to get the fair shake they should have had the first time there.

Not sure what the fuss is. I attended the Early Bird on Tuesday, got 25% off my entire purchase.

Did you complete it by and kicking and screaming on the floor too in the middle of the isle, you know like a 3 year old would….
Manager tries to offer you something in return and you call a total stranger an azz hole…
I went there yesterday and got new boots, theywere discounted compared to the advertised price.

The VIP pass was the opportunity to get into the store before the grand opening, not sure why so many feel entitled to discounts and free stuff.
People are lined up out the door, why would a store sacrifice margin when demand is at its highest?

Well I was there today - got in at 8:30am. I imagined it would be a 2 storey height place. Not! And the aisles were as narrow as Cdn Tire - if you know what I mean. Was looking at buying some Challengers 12 g. 3" 1 1/4 # BB & BBB as they were advertised on their webs site as being on sale for $13.29. But the "Outfitter" I spoke to didn't know anything about a sale - and showed me the boxes marked as $18.99 each. I took a chance and bought some anyways and sure enough ... as I had hoped - when I got to the cash, they were priced at $13.29 / box.
I think of this store as Cabela's "light" - compared to other ones I've been in (Arizona and Nebraska). Nevertheless, I got what I came for. Oh - and a free baseball cap! Cheers, Dan
