The boots I bought are Cabela's branded and apparently have a life time warranty, can just imagine the shenanigans when it comes time for them to honor the warranty

That's one 'positive' thing I must say about dealing with Big Box stores...they don't ask to many questions when it comes to honouring warranties....usually straight forward one for one exchange with a new item off the shelf or fast store credit or return back onto your debit card. They never seem to flinch.

Well I have been involved in Sales in the past and have 15 years experience and my family has a combine 200 years experience and none of us have ever mislead or lied to customers. But I guess that is the way things are done today.
When I called head office around 2 weeks ago and asked they said all sales would be on for the VIP. But from what you are telling me is that I should expect a company to lie to me. I think maybe you might be listening to Liberals in SW Ontario to much.

Like I said the boots I got were on sale, there were many items discounted in the store.
Fact is there were sales on some items, but apparently not specifically what you wanted. So exactly what is your point here ?
You know where I come from calling a complete stranger an azz hole for no apparent reason is wrong, even down here in Liberal country.

I've returned Cabela's-branded boots before, for popped eyelets. No questions asked, full credit given towards a different brand.
Whatever the weaknesses of the big box stores, returns are something they don't seem to fuss over.

I can't believe how fickle you guys are...... Ottawa has been wanting a store like this forever. Now that there's one here all I see is whining that its too small, there wasn't a sale, they might not honour a warranty.......... Then stay home or continue shopping at Lebaron !!!!! It'll open up room for valued consumers .

Well I just confirmed with head office the items were supposed to have been on sales. So score 10 for the Maritimer. I was right as usual!
