    Default "Last" northern grouse?

First hunt trip in over a month. Gun deer season was on in my local woods so a drive north was put into action. Some old snow topped with some new snow meant that there were many stories to decipher along the trails. Only saw one bird and I was the lucky one.

Nice going! Our season runs until Jan. 15 and the lab and I are hoping to get out for one more hunt.

Knee-deep in the hardwoods, less under the conifers. Snowshoes are a must.
