Has too much time on their hands
This is the mentality of the Liberals on this issue: Ken Hardie, Liberal MP for Fleetwood-Port Kells riding (Surrey, B.C.) tweeted this gem on July 4th: “Well now, the US was invading his country, he [Kahdr] was pressed into service at 15, improperly treated medically and legally; Canada was complicit.” which was taken down and then he tweeted this out: "Note to all: I apologize for my error on the original Omar Khadr tweet - distracted from the main legal issues that are not yet resolved."
The people in charge know nothing about this guy other than they think he deserves some sort of compensation for what happened to him.

Crap!! I might have got the section numbers backwards, but,at any rate,it's a treasonable offense for any Canadian to wage war against an ally, participate in terrorist activities against our citizens and country either at home or abroad. Khadr should have been charged, stripped of citizenship and deported back to Afghanistan with his Taliban buddies.
Section 46 CCC was what I was looking for. www,canadianencyclopedia.ca/treason

Typical Trydeau being away on a selfie tour when the announcement is made. Announcing this payout on a US holiday just shows the Americans that our Liberal government cares little about them.

Paying out the money after the close of business and the instant dispersion of funds to untraceable accounts while the PM won't take the heat while "out of town" and Parliament is on summer recess was shrewdly calculated, too. I'd laugh like he** if some of the funds went right back to terrorist operatives off shore. Of course,Liberals wouldn't have a problem with that, would they?

Do you think if the Harper government thought they had any chance of a conviction they wouldn't of laid that charge.
As for striping his citizenship and deporting him also just a feel good statement.
He was born here and is a Canadian citizen by birth.
Can't legally be striped of citizenship & left stateless.
He could only be deported to Canada.
Can't happen from Canada.

I hate to pop your liberal bubble, but, all this started under Jean Chretien's watch. He did nothing. Enter Paul Martin's Liberals and they also did nothing. Blaming the Harper Conservatives is the typical deflection and obfiscation ploy from Liberals. That dog won't hunt,no more.

Yes both Chretien & Martin where also at fault but to try to deflect this off Harper is BS.
It was on his plate far longer than both his predecessors combined.
Also Harper further complicated matters by ignoring both Federal and Supreme court rulings.
Even after these rulings he fought them with court challenges using over a hundred million of our money.
And my statement about Harper was in respect to your charge of Treason. ("Do you think if the Harper government thought they had any chance of a conviction they wouldn't of laid that charge.")

I'd have to read Geneva and Article 38 again however I believe 15 is the minimum age of service, recruitment, and participation in hostilities by STATE FORCES AROUND THE WORLD. Terrorists aren't officially recognized with those rights.
Regardless, his FIRST breach of any law, was fighting as a terrorist/enemy combatant and as a non recognized "state" combatant against his country and its allies. To play the child soldier card is just another disgusting trait of the morally depraved left.
The same justification in the law that the left uses to free the bastard should be the same law that hangs his treasonous azz. Yet he is paid and apologized to. What a despicable and morally corrupt party.
This is going to leave a mark.

WE can only hope it "leaves a mark". It is most assuredly deserved. With liberal apologists like we see below, not so much.

LOL Trimmer. Your obvious too blind to see the truth that the Conservatives played a big part in the problem and not just the Liberals.
What part of my statement was BS other than what you think goes against your viewpoint?
Prove my statements wrong.
If just because you don't like the outcome doesn't mean it's incorrect.
