    Default Muzzleloader contolled Hunt beginning ?

    I starting Hunting the controlled muzzleloader hunt back in 1984 in area 92 when it used to be a 4 day season . My question is does anybody know when the controlled hunt first started in Ontario. Thanks for any info

    I do know that in the late 1970's or very early 1980's a controlled "primitive weapons" season was in place in, I think, WMU 21, (the Aulneau Peninsula, near Sioux Narrows). Moose only. Bows or muzzleloaders and I think they had the regular 10-week season for NW Ontario. IIRC there was then and is now, no regular firearms season there.

    My uncle's and grandpa started back in the late 60s. They held a two day black powder deer season. All went out and bought Hawkins 45 caliber rifles. In the mid-seventies they introduce the shotgun hunt in are area. . I have to ask about more details
