What are the best socks or sock combinations to keep your feet warm and dry while ice fishing?

My boy was up working in the very north tip of quebec this fall, he says mo hair socks, artic sheep, said they were to warm to work with on. I will have to find some and try myself.

Buy the best boots you could afford or save up until you could afford good boots. I found this is the real trick in having warm feet. But to answer your question definitely a wool blend type of sock.

And get yourself a woven grass door mat like you put outside the front door. It under your feet well sitting or standing will do wonders to help stop the cold from creeping up thru the soles of your boots.
Take the warning labels off. Darwin will solve the problem.

Thats a great tip and it does help while sitting in one spot

I always wear a pair of dress socks (i got millions of those but i wear safety boots all day at work so i use them for hunting and fishing) with a pair of wool sock over that.
I try to drive in runners so my feet are not hot and sweating before going into whatever im wearing.
