    Default Lake trout lures/jigs

What is your "goto" setup for ice fishing Lake Trout? Going on our annual Temagami trip soon and need the experts device.

A larger minnow a few feet off the bottom works quite good up there.

I always match the color of the water since thats the color the baitfish in the area will be. So, with lakers it would usually be silver.
I like to keep my presentations simple especially in shallow water, say 2 ft to 30 ft depth. A simple blade as an attractor and a minnow hooked just behind the dorsal with a #6 or #8 treble. I usually fish shallower lakes and when possible keep my bait at least 2 ft off bottom as lakers usually don't feed on the bottom.
I rarely fish deep lakes but when I do I still look for rock shoals or points and work them.

Sebile vibrato is a killer right now. From whitefish to lakers, ling and walleye. It has put all my recent fish on the ice.

White tube jigs have always served me well on Temagami as well as a 4 inch crippled herring in silver.

For those using Vibratos, are you tipping them with minnow heads or just bare? I have heard it argued both ways. Thanks.
