What to look for?
I am thinking of treating myself to a new spinning outfit this year. What sort of things does everyone look for? I generally fish southern Ontario rivers/creeks, but may hit a lake or three and fish from shore or a small boat. I'm not a fan of trolling, my usual tactic is live bait, but a friend is saying plastic worms and round hooks is worth exploring. My current favorite rod is an ultralight Ugly stick, with a cheapo reel. To me, 8lb test is steel cable. Any pointers or recommendations are appreciated.

Get a nice Med Fast 6'6" set up. Fishing World has a sale coming up and always have good deals.
Depends on what you want to spend my fav Spinning set up is my Shimano Symetre 2500 mounted on a St.Croix Triumph (of the Bass-X if they are on sale). I strung it up with braid and use a mono leader. Great set-up and it will not break the bank.

I like a 7ft spin rod and an open face reel I usually use Trilene 8 pound or 10 pound XL. Same as I have since I was 6 years old.
