Default Scheer trying to commit political suicide?

Just watching the news and just saw that Andrew Scheer is not committing to keeping cannabis legal if elected. He must be hell bent to commit political suicide. Imagine the people that would be unemployed, all the big pot grow ops they built and the tax revenue.

Hmm, maybe I misheard but I thought he didn't commit to delegalizing it, which would be a smart move. I don't know how long the lustre is going to last on this whole deal anyway, new customers will get fed up with the prices and lack of availability that is already happening. Besides, as we all know everything the liberals get their mitts into gets screwed up, I can't see anything different happening here.

    Cheers

I watched a Sun interview yesterday where he touched on the subject but basically said there's not enough data for him to make an informed decision but they will definitely be looking into the minimum age requirement and possibly giving the provinces more power to make their own decisions.

Seemed to just tip toe around the question.

He's too smart to get caught in an unguarded slip for some media hack to launch a fake news story which the left could capitalize on to "spin".

To be honest I think the topic has been beaten right to death. I think he would be wise to keep his Focus on the more apparent issues. In my opinion the last election was won (lost) because of legalization.

Edit: just saw an interview with Ralph Goodale on CTV question period. They mentioned that Andrew Scheer would be considering re-criminalization and discussed the impact it would have on recently pardoned Canadians.

Looks like the big wheel is already turning...

tip toe .... or maybe he really doesn't have enough info to make a good decision. I bet he will have much better information to make an informed decision in 6 months from now ... so why not get the data to make an informed decision, instead of forcing someone to make a decision purely based on emotion or off the top of his head? Sometimes I wish politicians would understand implications better before making stupid decisions ... kind of like carbon tax which will never go towards helping the environment...

I agree with making an informed decision, but when you leave your position open to interpretation, things can get out of hand pretty quickly these days.

For example, the rest of the episode of Question Period I watched, the host continuously mentioned that Andrew Scheer did not say no when asked about reversing legalization. When your answer requires context to explain it, it's very easy to twist.
