Thanks, I had my deer checked in 2017 WMU 65, all good. I stayed while the MNR biologists sampled my deer's brain and nodes, very interesting to see. The MNR also tested almost 4000 deer and found; "Testing for 2017 is complete; all test results were negative for CWD." Hope all is well again this year.

Yes we have CWD here in Pa. - so far none has turned up near the area where I hunt but it keeps getting closer - and I'm sure that eventually it will end up here - a deer can be infected and not show signs for two years so even though you shoot a healthy looking deer it could be sick - and this CWD is closely related to mad cow disease - it turns your brain into a sponge - getting a deer that you shot tested would be too much work and drawn out to be worth the effort - so when I hear that this disease has been found in the county where I hunt I'm putting my rifle, hunting boots and related hunting equipment away for good - ain't worth taking a chance - it is a shame that this disease ever got started but not much you can do about it
