    No, we just walk and flush them. I used to have an english setter but not enough game down here to have a bird dog.......

    I could not imagine a better day spent afield
    U managed all three food groups.
    Bacon and Doves for breakfast,pheasant and soup for lunch,Fried rabbit fricasse for two for supper.

    That is a great harvest right there, so congrats on your successful hunt.
    From your writing, I imagine that you switched ammo for the dove hunt later in the day?
    For a number of years, I carried steel shot for everything, so that I was legal for waterfowl during my small game hunts. I decided afterwards that it was not practical, so I stopped doing it.
