    Default Lab/gsp cross

So my grandson, who lives with us , finally broke us down , to allow him to get a dog. I always owned Labs, but he is looking at a Lab/GSP cross. Anyone have any experience with this combo. {I know what you're going to say

It all boils down to genetics. IF and I say IF you so happen to get a breeder that crossed a registered lab with a register GSP (highly unlikely that they would be registered which brings up another question,,, why?) you could get pups with lab characteristics or GSP ...You are not likely to get a pointing lab.. Best to decide which style of hunting he will do, which element of a dog he desires flushing or pointing and go with a proven genetic. Or look for a rescue that may fill the void.
