Sleeping gear can be easy to come by.
I use Queen size Cool weather bag( rated 0 to 4°C I think), separate the top and bottom and make two single bags. Put bag from top inside bag made from bottom( bottom has catch for hooking around mattress), use large warm flannel blanket as liner. Remove liner an allow to dry as needed.
With this setup you can sleep in a snowbank. Not joking I gave done it for years.
If your using a tent, try to get down into the snow so your out of the wind. Straight walled tents are good because you can pile snow beside the walls. Seals off drafts under the tent, helps hold the tent down and insulates the sides.
Take the warning labels off. Darwin will solve the problem.
