The one from Thursday night has mange or was rubbed real bad. I made a bad shot at 340 yards and luckily hit him again before he made it into the Bush. Very small coyote and in rough shape, didn't post that photo as .22-250 made a mess

Sounds like you have a great hound. Well done.
I’m suspicious of people who don't like dogs, but I trust a dog who doesn't like a person.

he looks like my bonnie( passed) Pup. She loved to run the jack rabbits out on the plains.
Take the warning labels off. Darwin will solve the problem.

Congrats. It is nice to see a single dog push them like that. They occasionally turn on the hounds when I get out with some guys my way. Any concern of that with your dog? Just noting that there turned out to be 3 of them and one dog so I was wondering if that ever happened. They never hurt the dogs as far as I know, but occasionally hold or push them off. Mainly happens with the younger dogs as well to clarify.

I'm not too worried running my home block (dad, uncle and neighbouring farms that are all side by side), as I can access any side of the bush if need be and they are relatively small sections and coyotes usually don't hold up in there, Just circle a bit until the dogs push them out . My dog isn't a fighter, he will bay but wont get in there and tussle. My buddy that has 4 hounds just lives down the road from my dad and I could have got his dogs if need be.
I wont run him by himself in the larger swamps around that I know are holding a lot of coyotes. We usually only go in there when we got a full crew and all 5 hounds.
Only time we have had problems with being out numbered is after dark, we figure 5 coyotes were circling my kennel with my dog in there as he was going bananas one night and looking at the tracks in the morning.
