Video - Fisher Behaviours At The Trail Cam (Ottawa - Mar. 8/9, 2019)
Hello All,
It's always cool to capture fisher footage on the trail cam. Here's some neat behaviour stuff, captured late last week.
Cheers,
Justin

Now that was cool. Thanks. I have ever seen them down here. Do we have them in Southern On. ?

Definitely in the area west of Barrie, saw them quite a number of times while at work. Some munching on porkys, saw one with a turkey.

anfield21 - I found the remains of this road-kill whitetail (pretty much like you see it) so dragged it about half a mile to the location of my cam. Plenty of fishers in the area, so knew they would show up to check it out.
Sharon - Fishers are pretty much nocturnal. In all the times I have spent in the woods over the years, I have only ever seen one with my naked eye during daylight hours. Plenty around - just never see them unless you put up a trail cam.
Cheers,
Justin

I saw two sets of fisher tracks roaming the sidewalks of north Kanata in the fresh snow last week. They were only a couple of hundred yards from the open bush that runs out to Arnprior, but still, seeing their tracks in suburbia was a bit weird.

Every neighborhood should have them to keep the cat population in check.

We've got a few of them in CBay, and have had a couple of daylight sightings.
"Camo" is perfectly acceptable as a favorite colour.

I have a pair that live in the bush between my house and the road. Seen them often crossing the laneway. Lots of tracks all winter.
