I remember hunting with my two younger brothers one year when they used to shotgun hunt the home farm with my dad.

Dad told me to take the youngest brother to the edge of the swamp and let him take the open spot and for me to go back to the hardwoods and they would go across the road to the other big bush for the day. M youngest brother doesn't hunt much but he knows how to shoot and hes pretty good.

Day light breaks and I hear my younger brother start shooting. Hear 3 quick shots...then 2 more....then 2 more...then one last one.

I talk to him on the radio and hes like I just shot 3 deer, not sure what they are but one was coming right towards me after I shot the other two. I said ok dont shoot any more as we only have 3 more tags.

I'm cursing to myself wondering what my brother shot, wounded, missed and was wondering if I was going to have to spend all day in the swamp looking for deer now.

Walk up towards him and I see 3 deer stacked up in the long grass, doe and two button bucks. He said he shot the doe at about 40 yards, then was shooting at both bucks after but they were so close he was shooting over their backs.

He said he shot the last one at about 10 feet!

We all had a laugh and pulled the deer out and kept telling him how lucky of a hunter he is.

Couple months later in the winter the lady down the road that buys hay from us asks us if we seen a doe with twin buck fawns this fall.....Nooooo I said

She said she was feeding them all summer and the fawns would almost eat out of her hand....

Guessing that's why my brother was able to get so close to these deer....
