So since I find myself hunting alone a lot of the time I've invested in a flapping decoy. Picked it up at Basspro one that's basically a flag on a motorized gizmo. It does seem to help keep the geese coming on a straight approach. I'd recommend one as I do believe adding motion to a spread an important upgrade.

Invest in a good flag or if you're really stuck on getting one wait until the season's been open for a couple weeks and you'll get a deal on a used one.

We used one before, not anymore. Seems to spook more birds than anything in my experience. Only tried it a few times one season 2 years ago
I keep the mojo ducks right beside me, if geese are coming I rip them down
Only a flag here now

I think your right... they seem to avoid the flapping decoy.

As with most things there is no one magic trick. The one I have has a 3 way switch off, intermittent, and constant. Playing with it have found all it takes is a few flaps now and then to keep them interested. Constant motion puts them on alert.

X2 everything I heard says that a few flaps of a goose flag to get their attention and then no more movement. Ducks and Pigeons love movement and the move the better.
Take the warning labels off. Darwin will solve the problem.
