Anybody else use a red dog when out in the Uplands? This is Skipper with my son Will and a couple of woodcock. He's a bird hunting machine!

Beautiful dog. Our family had an Irish when I was young. Nobody bird hunted much then especially with a dog. Nice to them in the game!
I’m suspicious of people who don't like dogs, but I trust a dog who doesn't like a person.

Nice setter! I lost my English Setter "Bandit" about a year and a half ago to cancer. Miss him! I got another Red Setter pup last December which I'm working on now too. Here is a photo of Bandit. I'd love to get another black lab next year too.

Funny but I can't seem to embed the photos from Imgur anymore.

Skipper is my first Irish. Over the years I've had an English Setter, GSP, and Vizsla. I've had black labs (still my favourite all round dog), Springers, and Goldens and trained many more. I'm impressed with the Irish and this new Red I have now though. Very smart dogs! Not a lot of retrieving drive though but you can eat a sandwich while they hold point. lol

Ya you can get a setter to retrieve( it ain't pretty though) much easier than getting a lab to hold a point.

Nice looking Irish setter there Jeff. I have seen one of those before over at Gold creek farms, west of London. I believe Ed has a litter once a year.
