The sign has rotted away and fallen down, but there are definitely grouse there. I'm not sure what the RGS has to do with the grouse being there though - given the habitat, I would be surprised if grouse did not establish a population there, with or without their involvement.

How then did the recent changes to the hunting regs involving small game come about if there is no data?
They don't care
Couliewalker, I definitely think you have a point about the MNRF, “ They don't care.”The presentation and organization of information in the Hunting Regulation is a case in point. It looks more like the Regs have had a shipwreck the page reference guide to the various game species is gone from the maps, as well as the chart detailing firearm to be use for big game, to name just a couple of casualties. The Regs reminds me of an item that has been done on the cheap. It would appear when the Liberals were at the helm they weren’t being cost efficient enough, when it came communicating information to us in the hunting community. That said, it does appear were seeing any breaks in the cost of licencing with the current government.

I thought about joining as well. Many years ago I saw a RGS sign erected along Highway 17 west of Deep River. I hunt the area for grouse. I could never find any particulars as to how they improved the area and there didn't appear to be anything done. Now the sign has grown over and I'm not sure if they're still or were active in the area.
Can't find anything on the internet for this area.

I'm a member. Yeah there's not much going on up here but they do publish a great magazine called Covers. I look forward to it in the mail every couple of months.
