Bill Blair basically told both of them that after Nationwide conversations with many firearms owners they will bring in legislation to force SECURE storage of firearms up to and including having them stored at gun ranges in safes or vaults.(probably a good time to invest in a range). He also said that military style assault weapons have no purpose in civil society (Tracey might loose her toys), and that the safety of all society is upmost and out weights the risks involved in allowing some people to own such weapons.Who could be against such reasonable proposals.I did not know that the Con,s had been solicited to allow 30 round magazines so the video revealed some of their thinking on gun control.Anyway I thought Billy was pretty good, they thought that he had beaten them down during the interview,I think the readers should judge for themselves. He is confident that the majority of gun owners will do the right thing and so do I.

I already posted that link.... but sure post it again, you seem to need to watch it again.

Let me ask two questions ...

    1) Can we trust the Liberal's ... I mean we see Billy change his story a couple times, get basic facts wrong, turn red and lie and march off. So can we trust the Liberal's to do the "right" thing ... based on their record and their "truth" I suspect their "right" thing is closer to Alan Rock and Wendy Cuklier's idea and they want to seize even more personal property from law abiding citizens. The lies on budgets. deficits, ethics, taxes, SNC. JWR and firearms just keep pilling up so what are you basing your trust on?

    2) How do you define the "right" thing to do with firearms? Are you a fan of Alan Rocks and Cukliers? Do you think the law abiding are the problem like they do? Senator Dalphond's idea of "right"?
    https://thegunblog.ca/2019/03/26/let...dalphond-says/

I look at the Liberal's consistent failures and combine it with their comments and we see Senator Dalphond and some groups supporting the Liberals saying the "right" thing to do is have a "firearm free" Canada. I also see a political party that lies repeatedly, can't get basic facts right, won't answer questions honestly and ignores the criminal so I honestly think it is hard to look at the Liberals and trust them unless they are an ideologue or a supporter of a Canada as a authoritarian/dictatorship with huge debts and no future.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ZHUhfmlzXk
Liberal supporters are expected though, after all Mao etc. didn't murder millions all by himself, he had supporters too.

You are probably right most that most firearm owners will follow the laws.... after all they are already the law abiding ones... it is the definition of "right" ... head hunters thought it was "right" to cook their neighbours, socialist/Communist to kill the opposition and seize property is "right" to them ....

As for the criminals, as per the Toronto police chief's comments about our legal system ... it is broken with a revolving door like this incident
    https://twitter.com/marksaunderstps/...67342617010176
and it makes me wonder what the authoritian incompetents will want to take next ... like Britain it is blaming knives!

OK so I just watched the video in it's entirety and I have a couple of comments (and a question). First the AR15 has been in Canada for over 50 years. My first one in the early 90's was just another gun, I used it for groundhogs. It was only deemed restricted by order in council (a bureaucrat thought it was scary). Also pretty much every gun in existence started life as a military "assault" weapon, right from a musket to a Barrett 50BMG. His statement that " the safety of all society is upmost and outweighs the risks involved in allowing some people to own such weapons" is pure hogwash. The Liberals could care less about public safety. If they did they would implement measures that actually deal with firearm crime in inner cities. They introduced Bill C-71 and now they are talking about a rifle confiscation and not once have they mentioned any measures to deal with the actual problem. Oh I know they announced $450 million Canada wide to deal with gangs and guns but Trudeau's canoe vacation scheme is estimated to cost $550 million. So my question is what do you feel is the "right thing" and will you still feel the same when they come for your "sniper rifle", you know the one with a scope? TC

So you agree that my guns should be brought to the range every night for storage in their vaults? I guess you agree with fing over farmers and land owners then, thanks a lot buddy.

Gilroy, bill Blair is a liar. His nation wide talks months ago were overwhelmingly unsuccessful with his proposal of gun bans and central storage. Because he lies Gilroy, he has absolutely zero credibility imo.

This is a hunting forum for hunters and I for one am getting fed up having the usual mob trying to rope me into a dispute about gun RIGHTS and we all have to stick together and the fear mongering about all semi auto,s being taken including our hunting guns.

So clearly in the video he spells out what he wants to do and Yes Fox its reasonable for you to store your guns at a range if you like playing with AR-15,s.Nobody told you, you take your gun there every night, you keep it there and use it there, where else would you want to use such a gun.

The big question which as NEVER been answered on here over year after year is:

IF the LIBERALS had intentions of taking ALL YOU GUNS how come it did not happen when they had back to back MAJORITY GOVERNMENTS?

We know from the Angus Reid polls that 55% of hunters would favour more restrictions so for this forum your probably out of luck.

Billy Blair is probably the best person to handle this file because of his extensive law enforcement background into these issues.

Your advocates in the video come across as cry babies because they cannot get to play wit their AR15,s with their banana clips.

As Minister Blair points out this is not America where its a right, this is Canada and its an earned privileged.

Maybe some of you people would be happier going to the America where you can play with your toys all day long and hope that you don,t get randomly shot down while is a movie theater, at a Walmart, at a school,at a Mosque,at a Synagogue.

There is not a chance of guns being banned in Canada which are commonly used in hunting because there is to much money at stake.

Personally if I could not keep my semi auto (I only bought one because I was hunting over dogs at the time) then I would simply go to a bolt action.I think every hunter on here can kill a deer with a bolt action gun.

Have you guys ever figured out why there are not scores of supporters on this forum supporting your points of view AND WHY Liberals keep getting voted back in, it might be because your on the wrong side of this debate?

I have pointed out repeatedly, the whole Liberal party hierarchy is a group of liars, I wish I had book marked the video of Justin's lying apologies from the House of Commons... must have been about 10 times on that video he had to apologize for things he said.

Gilroy is an example of an ideologue.... regardless of what they say, their lies, waste etc. he will march to their orders.... I said they would likely use bans as an us vs them and lies and fear mongering and have been proven right .... and if it is successful given the current fear mongering atmosphere we can see those sniper rifles gone to win votes too...

Ban sniper rifles and assault weapons. Under the current legislation, the Ruger Mini 14 used to kill 14 women in the Montreal Massacre of 1989 would still be legal to buy in Canada. So are the types of sniper rifles used by our military in Afghanistan. What possible use can they have in a civil society? Ban them.

Sad .... but as I have said, even Mao and Capone had their accomplices... I guess in a free (for now) society you can vote for narcissists and liars like Justlied Trudeau.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8igrMJ9L4po

    But still sad....

A question on Google when you put in Canadian Sniper rifles

Are Sniper Rifles Legal in Canada? ... In fact, the Remington 700, a popular hunting rifle, enjoyed a pretty long career as a sniper rifle. Canadians cannot own suppressors, but the rifle actions, barrels, stocks, and scopes are all without restriction.

I wonder which sniper rifles they will pick?
