2019 Nipissing Ice Report

I might as well get started with this frosty weather. I live right on lake Nipissing so I will be updating the ice formation regularly for those fans of lake Nipissing.

November 13 Ice report:

Nice job, as always, Kokemachine.

That audio is crazy - I thought you were in the middle of a hailstorm until you explained that the sound was coming from the ice crust crunching against the shore.

I've never seen/heard anything like that.

Thanks, Trophy-Seeker. This lake can really make a wild variety of sounds as the ice is coming on. If the conditions are right and the crust breaks up it can sound like champagne classes clinking together at a wedding

Warm temperatures and high wind have stripped off the ice. It looks like we have another week of rain and warm weather. This may be the last ice report for a week or so.
