    Considering the number of shots fired in Ontario every year the number of hunting related accidental shootings is quite low.

    Exactly! It used to be a whole hell of a lot worse before the "hunter orange" regulations came into effect. I've been hunting long enough to remember when it wasn't required. Accidental shooting injuries dropped dramatically in Ontario. Using Google searches, jurisdictions with "hunter orange" requirements consistently have miniscule accident rates compared to those that don't.

    So sad. Condolences to the family. Imagine taking your son/daughter hunting and not coming home! This can happen anywhere. Just horrible!
