Only as a "pilot". We're in the last year of the 5 year expansion to the original 2 year pilot. Which at the time, only had the hunt around 5 major northern cities for residents only. The 5 year expansion we are currently in opened it to all wmu's and non-residents.
This, is a full return of the spring bear hunt season.

It could always change, no matter if it were permanent or not.
I know that last year any WMU that had a fall hunt had a spring hunt, but I don't think that non-residents were allowed yet.
I have not seen the billboards like I used to back in the middle 90s, so maybe the tree huggers are too busy with climate change.

In Ontario the Spring Bear hunt is back as Pilot project for 2 extended for 5 years as I know .
This year is the last , we should use this one , maybe the last one ....
Next year maybe not going to have a Spring Bear hunt , but up north the fall Bear hunt start in August 15
so don't cry , use the info and use the time ...
I am getting tired of hunters complaining off no opportunity to hunt in Ontario ....
Big game , Moose Deer Bear Wolf and so on ....
I hope I will not upset the forum , with my opinion but I want to say ,
just get out in the wilderness and enjoy the opportunity camping hunting on crown land ,
where in the world you can get a Bear tag for $50 ...
And only the third of hunters are successful to fill the tag .

You are so right in saying that, the opportunity is there to hunt, no matter what time of year, so dont pack it in and quit, the more we get out there n hunt, the more the govt will see we want it

P.S. Always amazing when people try to re write history and caste a positive SPIN on their party, but your all OK on here I will be your fact checker.....LOL
All true, but no one in the thread had claimed otherwise. Tilting at windmills are we?...

I think there are some WMU's ( if they were open for the spring hunt) you could almost have a 100% Success rate just by sitting quietly in camp and frying bacon.
Take the warning labels off. Darwin will solve the problem.
