Do the Excalibur cranks have a stop/start and forward/backward capability ? I haven't looked at the newer x-bows, so not sure what they have now.

Perfect... bring out this the year after I bought my new Ten-point.

It would be nice to see this type of system being adopted by other manufactures, just for the safety factor. Having had a recurve in the past, and having to use a dummy bolt to let the bow down after a hut, this type of let down would be quieter, I wouldn't have to fumble in my pack, etc. With my new bow, a TenPoint NXT the only safe way to let it down is to shoot a bolt into a target, which if you hunt to last night means waiting until you are home... after all the bow needs to be encased 1/2hr after sunset.

As for Belle's Mike's post was not about brand name of the bow, it was about the cocking system.

When cranking the string up you can silently stop and start at any time without the handle free wheeling.

When letting the string down you use a safety strap to prevent the handle from free wheeling.

It is a great crank that I use when loading the bow several times.
