    Default March 4th and 5th

Well had a few mornings to fish with my dad and brother. Its always nice when you can still get out together even it if is just the morning. The 4th started off a little late and the plan was to meet up on the ice . I also arrived a bit late drilled my first hole 740 am by 840 the other 2 showed they had to keep running back to the house because of forgotten items lol. They first forgot my brothers fishing license then after they left again realized they forgot a helmet and I think they went back a third time for something else lol.

By the time they arrived on the ice at my spot I already had 2 jumbos and let another smaller one go. Drill them some holes as they are setting up I get another one. Things died off for a few minutes I missed another then I got another. It was almost 10 now and we decided to pack it up and head to whitefish grounds as we were packing up I tied up 2 rods for my brother. As I was tieing up his line another school came in and I plucked a few more perch .. by now the wind was really starting to pick up. We headed off looking for bigger fish on our arrival I noticed the usual huts are not where they have been in the previous years . I started drilling holes for everyone and set up anyway the fishing was slow so we moved over to some more structure a 200 yard move away. The Mark's on the finder were few and far between. The wind was really houling now and we all decided to call it quits , sucks because this day I would of been able to stay for a longer day.
I ended up losing 1 whittie about 8 ft up the bottom that was it. By 130 we packed up ready to head in.

    The 5th.
This day I had to leave by noon so we started a bit earlier then the day before met my dad on the launch at 640 and headed out. Since my brother had to take the dog to the doggy daycare he was able to be at the shore by 745. It was a beautiful morning the wind was gone the sun was out. I marked steady fish before my brother showed up and when my dad returned back from picking him up he immediately hooked into the first whitefish. At this point I had only missed one tap . I started punching a bunch of holes about 100 ft from each other and started hoping around. On my second move fish started moving in as soon as I dropped the finder in ,always a great sing and something that doesn't happen very often. I quickly get a line down as it got to the bottom I started realing up the slack as the slack picks up I noticed the fish was already on the line ,I lifted it up and set the hook. Well I felt that one but it was gone. I will post a picture of that you can see the line dropping then lift and gone lol. Oh well little while later I finally land my first of the morning, then I missed another one on those holes. Went back to my OG holes and finished of the last 30 minutes I had there ended up missing 2 more and was time for me to leave. It was such a nice day out my dad and brother stayed a few more hours in the end my brother landed 1 more in the afternoon. Was a great few mornings out on the hard the fishing was tougher than the last time my dad was up but hey they are still great memories. A few photos

Some of you already seen the perch and my pretty white toes [emoji1787][emoji106]. We should of stayed on the perch lol.

Only another week till closer . I'm going to enjoy Monday morning out there before the rain and plan on getting out with some friends on the Saturday or Sunday witch ever day is nicer looks like a windy day on the closer.

Some nice whites there! Looks like nice weather too.

This week should work wonders for being able to get around up here once again.

How is it one careless cigarette can cause a forest fire, but it takes a whole box of matches to light a campfire?

Nice fish. Congrats. Always nice to be out with family.
Got skunk for Lakers today, 30 - 40 km/hr winds, nasty day on the ice. Buddy flipped his sled twice, not sure what the hell was going on? Must of hit frozen slush piles? Banged his arms, wrists and chin, damage to helmet, snowmobile and sleigh.

    Thanks

That sucks about your friend. You still have deep snow? I know it's not hard to roll if you get off the main packed snow trails in the deep stuff.

    Better luck next time.
    Good luck out there.

You got lots of snow I assume ?

Going to be another disaster for lake Ontario residents. They should start preparing for it now.

The north has plenty as usual it hasn't really melted and has only been accumulating since October where my mom is . Here around simcoe we have snow on the ground still.

Good luck on your next trip out enjoy the beautiful spring air. I know I will lol.

My buddy is going to Mexico I said let's see who has a better tan when he gets back lol. Love the sunny warm days on the last stretch of ice [emoji106].

Plus 10 and sunny Tomorrow I'll be out for the morning catching a few Ray's.
