Checked and stocked my turkey vest
I took some time this morning to go over all of my turkey hunting gear. Sorted through the decoys and have two sets for the two places I will be hunting. Then I went through my turkey vest and double checked all my calls, range finder, head lamp, hand warmers, gun sock, etc.
I just have to pattern the shotgun again and set up a blind in a new spot on my neighbour’s property. It looks like a wet opener for my area so I have all my rain gear ready to go as well. I can have most of the stuff I need in the blind a few days before so that the only thing I need to bring is my vest, coffee and gun.
I will be hunting the same field I have for the last 12 years. Usually I would be taking out a new hunter or a buddy but this year it will be a solo hunt. This field or the adjoining one have been very good with at least 3 Toms or jakes being shot each year.
good luck everyone. Be safe and enjoy every moment!

Permethrin. I haven’t seen a tick since I started using it.
Spray your hunting clothes, let dry, you are good for the season !

did you buy that here in Canada or the US. I heard they sell some for animals at co-op stores. I cant find any in Ontario.

Pet stores will carry it under the purpose of flea killer. Premise is the name of the stuff I get when working south of here. Thankfully my hunting is not bothered by ticks, yet...

How is it one careless cigarette can cause a forest fire, but it takes a whole box of matches to light a campfire?
