Is anyone planning to hunt public land this year?

Yes, I checked the spot I hunt near Ottawa and it is not closed. Quite a few turkeys too. Another public forest in the area is also not closed.

I was planning my first season of Turkey hunting this year but closures have interfered with scouting, I'll likely still give it a shot but I'm having a hard time finding them on public land. I'll be happy to get out either way and maybe learn a thing or 2.

My public spots are all closed, so this year no public for me.

Down here in the Essex region there is no public land that I know of. I usually go to Chatham for Whitetail on public land, but luckily a long time family friend owns hundreds of acres of apple orchard in Leamington. Seems that private land is the way to go for spring Turkey. I've never had good experiences with other hunters walking into my hunts unfortunately... Either they're breaking the law or just plain don't know what they're doing and spoil the hunt.
