I got a nice leather belt from my daughter a while ago. This belt is very stiff. When i put my pants on with this belt-it feels like a metal band around my waist. Not discomforting(i do leave a slack)but i do not really enjoy it.My daughter wonders why i am not using it more...........any suggestions how to soften it up?Thanx

Leather conditioning/waterproof will help. Just like dry skin, using hand cream increases softness. The belt will soften over time and the waterproofing will stop it from cracking.
Take the warning labels off. Darwin will solve the problem.

For many years I used Neatsfoot oil , always worked for me to soften leather, but I see on Goggle it's not recommend by some.
I know Mink oil also works well on leather, same stuff you use on leather boots/shoes

Bear oil is amazing on leather, it's so fine that it soaks in like nothing.

The product they use for softening baseball mitts works pretty well too.

Physically running it back and forth over a round wooden table leg would also help break it in. Just don't do it a a good table.

Neatsfoot oil is great for softening leather but only use a very small swipe on a damp cloth, anything more will make the leather turn into a wet dish rag and it is difficult to get out. These days the neatsfoot oil sold for leather work is mostly mineral oils. Commercial mink oil sold for leather conditioning is a better option to prevent over application, but again use only sparingly.

To soften up your leather belt, you can try using leather conditioner or oil. Just apply a small amount to a soft cloth and rub it into the belt. This moisturizes the leather and makes it more flexible. Another trick is to gently bend and flex the belt in different directions to break it in. You can also try rolling it up and leaving it like that for a while. If you're interested in exploring more leather products, you might want to check out https://vonbaer.com/. They have a great selection of high-quality leather goods. Give these methods a try, and hopefully, your belt will become much more comfortable to wear.
