    Default turkey striker question

    hey everyone

need some info/advice. im going to order some dowel to make some 2 piece strikers. I already picked out the 5/16" striker wood, just not sure what wood I should choose for the tops???
    - do different tops affect the sound like the striker ?
    - should I have matching wood tops ?
-or should I just try random mixing and matching ?

this is what wood im thinking about using for the 5/16" strikers and going to narrow it down to around 6-9 to help with your opinions

    Osage Orange
    Chechen
    Black Locust
    Rosewood
    Purple heart
    Hickory
    Tigerwood
    Zebrawood
    eucalyptus,
    Pau Rosa
    Bloodwood
    Wenge

thanks in advance for all the help

The more dense/harder wood the more higher pitch. The lighter wood will give a softer sound but won’t give you the volume

Both would effect sound I believe. I like going with a heavier top but that’s my preference
