first upland of the year...
well folks made it out today and hunted the south river area, It ended up being perfect grouse and woodcock weather. The two hour walk in the woods got me two ruffles and a woodcock, but considering the bush I was walking in was prime grouse habitat I was surprised to only see three chikens in two hours so I'm thinking the numbers in that whole general area are still low.

That's still a pretty good haul for a couple hours walk. That's a really nice area with a lot of active logging to create future habitat.
1 more week before the southern units open.

Good feed. Around here that don’t mean nothing. Lots of place I go you don’t see nothing where you know it’s a good spot then on the way back a couple hours later you might limit out in that same stretch of road.

I know that does happen sometimes...
