    Default Boiled Onions

Any one else like boiled onions? A number of years ago I was at a hunt camp and was asked if I'd like a boiled onion with dinner. I like onions but never had a boiled one. Gave it a try, now ever time I make boiled or mashed potatoes I throw a smaller size cooking onion in the water with the potatoes and it's done at the same time. Is it ever good.

Closest I've come is French onion soup. Prefer my onion/garlic baked. Get that sweat taste but not the mushy feel of a boiled product.

I like baking a sweet onion on the BBQ. Coat it with butter and wrap in foil, just like you would do with a potato. Only takes about half the time of a potato.

Slice potatoes and onion, alternate slices wrapped in tin foil, little olive oil and salt, cook on BBQ, awesome.
