I for one, do believe they're around (at least a few passing through anyway).

I recall a time when I was in my teens, fishing along the Maitland river and seeing what were obviously bear tracks in the mud. I mentioned this to the local CO when I saw him shortly after and he essentially laughed in my face. Long story short, a few years later locals were sending pictures to the Goderich newspaper about bears "attacking" their bird feeders. A few more years pass and finally it was announced that black bears had returned to the area.

...and don't even get me started on Bigfoot....

I am certain that if you took a left at Albuquerque you would find a lot more cougars.

    Hahaha.... classic!

As for a breeding population of cougars in Ontario, I'm still waiting to see pictures of juveniles.

Well they seem to be around or the media are also in on the hoax.

At my camp I have seen one run across a field near the camp at dusk, returned later from town to see a camp member out on the porch with his rifle,as the same animal came right up under a freshly hung deer on the meat pole. A second hunter saw one stalking after a doe in broad daylight.I have also seen large cat tracks in the snow with a tail drag behind them.A local trapper has seen them
both he saw were black so probably released pets.

I do agree that with so many trail cameras out there we should have some images showing up. I have seen fishers on numerous occasions and even a pine marten and my camp is 250 km from Mississauga. You either believe the results of the posted studies and DNA evidence or you do not.We have a good population of black bears in my area I hunt but in 20 years of being up there including summers I have only seen them about 6 times.

[COLOR=#000000]"OPP Sgt. Paul Zeggil said earlier that the cougar would be moved to another area, far away from humans."With the assistance of the MNR, we’d like to relocate the cougar to a safer location," he said."

    Interesting.
because if it was a domesticated escapee, it wouldn't be released back into the wild I'm thinking.

That's a funny article. He chased it with a shovel in his hand and roared at it. lol Gilroy that cougar was an escapee, someones wanna be pet that got out of its pen. Again the one at your camp was more than likely another escapee. You would be surprised what exotic animals have for pets right under our noses.
