have an old Garmin Canada topo map. Up north (52º), I found they are off by about 100m and not whatsoever current even if it comes to larger bodies of water.
not sure if they have reworked them since, but there is a reason why people started buying other maps that were consolidated based on satellite images rather than ancient government surveys.

If you can find it, Ibycus maps. Use Mapsource from Garmin to load Ibycus. I have had great luck with that.

I have Trakmaps, its good but I heard Backroads is better. The Garmin map chip was useless. I used to download free raster map files then save directly to my GPS memory, not sure if that is still possible but the map chips like Trakmaps are much more convenient and have more info like WMU's.

I just found Ibycus a few weeks ago , price was right at "free" good maps that show a lot more bush roads / trails than Garmin Topo maps do.

Just got a flyer; Radio World has the Backroads on sale Friday to Monday for $119.99 .. Good deal as they are usually $149.00

    They say "limited stock"
