In the shooting lane - actually the wide open.

Hunted from the stand that is 10 yards behind this cam all day the day before this pic was taken:

This is the same guy that I saw on the last day that I rifle hunted. He is the 8pt that caught me asleep at the base of an elm tree. Fell asleep before legal light and woke up 30 minutes after the legal start with my rifle still in the case and cartridges in my pocket. This guy had his eyes locked on me when I awoke and came in at a fast walk from about 50 yards right to 4 yards off my nose. He kept his eyes locked on me the entire time and I never dared move. Wind was blowing hard in my favour so he never winded me but was very curious as to what I was - he could tell something funny was up. He stopped at 4 yards and stared for 30 sec to a minute and than turned and fast walked off but did not seem to be spooked. By the time I got the rifle ready I did not have a shot.
At least I know he made it through the rifle hunt.

The wilderness is not a stadium where I satisfy my ambition to achieve, it is the cathedral where I worship.

Ha Ha - rifle in the case and shells in the pocket. Kicking yourself in the azz would be appropriate. LOL
He's a big body. Big thick neck and shoulders. Still time.
Maybe the next pic you take he will be lying beside your Excaliber.
